ABS Sensors

OVERVIEW

An Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) wheel speed sensor continously monitors the rotational speed of each wheel and transmits this information to the ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU compares wheel speeds to detect impending wheel lock-up and regulates brake pressure accordingly. In modern Light & Heavy commercial vehicles wheel speed sensors are fundamental to traction control (ASR), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Braking Systems (EBS), hill-start assist, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Bremse Spec + ABS Sensor Specifications and Benefits. • Outer sensor body, ENGINEERED PLASTIC / POLYMER.

• Internal coil, FINE COPPER WIRE • Magnetic core FERROUS METAL • Electrical Terminals COPPER ALLOY • Cable COPPER CONDUCTORS WITH POLYMER INSULATION • Grease KLUEBER STABURAGS NBU 30PTM / VALVOLINE EP 633 • IP6K8/IP6K9K protection • Sensor Bush included in every kit • 100% Electrical Testing • 100% Output Testing – (confirming the sensor produces the required signal when subjected to a controlled magnetic / rotational test • Environmental & Temperature Tested. There is no need to set a minimum air gap for the sensor because due to the wheel bearing play, the gap is adjusted automatically during the first few wheel rotations.
